Yesterday Jess and I took advantage of Boston’s Restaurant Week by having a lovely lunch at Henrietta’s Table! It was a really delicious reminder that we should not squander the glories of living in the city: namely three courses for twenty dollars.
such a deal!
they brought a basket with four different kinds of bread to try. They were all really delicious, this one had raisins and nuts.
We obviously really liked the breads. I would not personally recommend finishing off an entire bread basket before a three course meal but c’est la vie! I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Me, my mona lisa smile, and a gigantic bowl of lettuce leaves. I really loathe this picture of myself but I shall overcome my vanity if only to demonstrate the ridiculousness of that salad. If I had not been paying a 20 dollar prix fix, and had paid the 12 dollars that salad was supposed to cost I would have been mightily displeased.
Grilled chicken breast on top of mashed potatoes with a spicy barbecue sauce. There’s just something about eating mashed potatoes during the day time that makes me happy. Full as is humanly possible, but happy.
For dessert I got the chocolate bread pudding because it had rave reviews on Yelp! But I have to say, while the bread pudding was fine, the flambe’d bananas combined with the vanilla ice cream and butter rum caramel were incredible. I could have skipped the bread pudding all together and just ate the accessories, which is sorta what I did anyway. Jess got the apple cobbler which was also really yummy (we shared, obviously. Girl Lunch!)
